The Institute for Dismantling Racism operates the Freedom Tree Project that consists of three specialized educational training courses.
Training Courses
Course 1: Culture and Multicultural Self (2 Hours)
This course examines culture, race, and multiculturalism from an historical prospective. Participants learn the language of race, prejudice, and the power dynamics associated with culture. Participants leave with a clearer picture of their multicultural self within a socialized society. Course 2: Change, Culture and Diversity (1 Day)
This course delves deeper into specific techniques for improving the cultural dynamic within groups likes businesses, churches, schools, and nonprofits. Participants learn how to create the mechanisms for intentional and meaningful understanding of the ways in which racism continues to affect and infect our community life. We seek to engage this issue, as a community, in real terms and real time. We anticipate that this process will culminate in action. Course 3: Culture Shifting Boot Camp (2 Days)
This course will help organizations to collectively create diverse and empathetic cultures. Creating an empathetic culture will lead to greeter job satisfaction, and higher productivity. This process will not happen overnight but this two-day intensive course helps to catalyze this process for organizations.
